How to drive a semi-trailer safely in summer?

Because the summer is too hot, people's sleep quality is usually not good, semi-trailer drivers are easy to get tired and doze off during the drive, so in the summer to ensure adequate sleep, and then try to avoid noon. Semi-trailer driver friends in hot summer should also pay attention to the following points to avoid accidents.

How to drive a semi-trailer safely in summer?

1. Prevents the engine from overheating

In summer, strengthen the inspection and maintenance of the cooling system of the semi-trailer machine, remove the debris embedded between the radiators in time, check the working performance of the thermostat, water pump and cooling fan, and repair the damaged parts in time. Driving in hot weather, the consumption of antifreeze in the engine accelerates, so the amount of coolant should be checked frequently according to the markings on the antifreeze reservoir, and when it is missing, it should be added in time.

Pay attention to the water temperature gauge while driving, and if you find that the water temperature is too high, you should stop immediately and open the engine compartment to dissipate heat; If the engine has been "opened", be careful not to add water immediately to avoid the engine block bursting; When opening the radiator cap, be careful and slow to allow the steam inside thecooling system to slowly escape to prevent burns.

2. Prevents poor engine lubrication

When the temperature is high, the viscosity of the oil drops quickly, the lubrication capacity decreases, you should choose the lubricating oil suitable for summer use, check the quality of the lubricating oil frequently, and add or replace it in time.

3. Prevents fuel "gas resistance"

In summer, the heat dissipation speed in the engine compartment is very slow, if the car often drives in poor road conditions, the driving speed is slow, the engine is prone to the fuel system "gas resistance" phenomenon, which will cause the vehicle to fail to start or accelerate poorly. In the event of "air resistance", the driver should immediately park the car in a cool place to cool down.

4. Prevent the battery liquid level from being too low

In summer, the temperature is high, the water in the battery electrolyte evaporates quickly, and the liquid level will drop rapidly, and even expose the plate, causing early damage to the battery. Therefore, the height of the battery liquid level should be checked frequently in summer, and the supplementary electrolyte should be added in time.

5.It is not advisable to turn on the air conditioner for a long time

Vehicles equipped with air conditioners are relatively well sealed, and the vast majority of people will have dizziness, fatigue and memory loss after spending a few hours in this environment. That's because gasoline burns incompletely when the engine is idling, producing carbon monoxide. At the same time, the people in the car exhale a large amount of carbon dioxide, which sharply reduces the oxygen in the car; On the other hand, using the air conditioner for a long time after getting on the car will make the condenser pressure too large and cause loss to the refrigeration system. If the car has reached a comfortable temperature, you can turn off the air conditioner for a period of time and turn it on, or open the windows every once in a while to breathe.

6. Do not wear sunglasses that are too dark

Summer direct sunlight, strong light is easy to make people unable to open their eyes, many drivers like to wear sunglasses to drive, sunglasses can be worn, but to choose quality pass the color of light sunglasses.

It is understood that the dark color of sunglasses can delay the time for the eyes to send images to the brain, resulting in "poor vision" and forming "trompe l'oeil", especially when encountering signal lights and entering dark places from bright places, this visual delay will cause speed and distance perception distortion, so that drivers wearing sunglasses make wrong judgments, and it is easy to respond untimely in case of emergencies and lead to accidents.

7. Prevent puncture of your semi trailer

In summer, tire temperature and air pressure will increase with the increase of air temperature, rubber is easy to soften, and even sintering or melting phenomenon in severe cases. When the vehicle is driving at high speed, the tire is easy to burst if it encounters a hard object, so it is necessary to check frequently or check the tire pressure at any time in the long-distance drive, when the tire is overheated and the tire pressure is too high, it should be parked on the side in the shade to rest and cool down, and must not use cold water to cool down, nor do you deflate when the tire temperature is very high to reduce the pressure, otherwise the temperature difference between the tire hot and cold changes too much will lead to puncture or early damage to the tire.

8. Prevents degradation of braking performance

Brake fluid is easy to evaporate in a high temperature environment, gas resistance is formed in the brake pipeline, and the brake shoes are also easy to ablation, resulting in a decrease in braking performance. Therefore, brake fluid should be added or replaced in time in summer, the air in the hydraulic brake system should be thoroughly drained, and the brake hose and brake shoes should be intact. When going down long hills, you can also use a lower gear and use the engine to brake, so as to avoid the brake overheating and causing the brake to be insensitive.
