9 ways to determine electrical malfunctions of an oil tanker trailer
When there is an electrical fault in the oil tank trailer, it is an important prerequisite for maintenance to quickly and accurately judge the fault. After a lot of practice and research for a long time, the maintenance engineers have realized that the following methods are very practical in electrical diagnosis.
Observation method
If the starter of the ofuel tanker trailer cannot be started, turn on the headlight first, observe its brightness, and judge whether the fault is caused by poor contact of the power line or battery power loss. You can also judge some faults of the ignition system and charging system by observing the indication of the voltmeter.
Listening method
When the exhaust pipe of the oil tanker engine has a "bump" sound, it is generally too late to ignite, and when the "rattle" sound is heard, it is generally too early to ignite the engine.
Touching method
Touching the electric equipment of the oil tank truck trailer can judge the fault according to its temperature. If the motor is overheated, it can generally judge that there is a short circuit in its internal coil, which should be prevented and maintained as soon as possible.
Smelling method
If the electrical equipment of the oil tank truck trailer suddenly breaks down during operation, you can first smell the burning smell of the relevant electrical wire, and judge whether the fault is caused by overload or short circuit.
Lamp test method
The lamp test method can be used to judge whether the circuit of the tank trailer is normal. If the silicon rectifier generator is generating electricity, the wire connected to the battery can be removed, the test lamp can be connected, and the other side of the test lamp can be grounded. If the lamp is on, it means generating electricity, if the lamp is not on, it means not generating electricity, and this method can also be used to judge whether there is an open circuit in the circuit.
Instrumental diagnosis
It can be detected by multimeter, electrical test bench and special fault diagnosis instrument. In addition, there is a self-diagnosis system for each part of the current electric control vehicle. According to the operating instructions of different vehicles, the fault code can be extracted and the fault location can be found.
Short-circuit method
Use a wire to connect the previous electrical appliance to the power supply directly. If the electrical appliance works, it indicates that the electrical appliance is normal. If the circuit of the tanker is faulty and does not work, connect the next electrical appliance to the power supply, and so on until the fault is found.
Intermediate truncation method
The inspection can be started from the intermediate equipment of the fuel tank trailer circuit. If the failure of charging is not checked, the regulator can be checked first. If the regulator is charged, it indicates that the regulator is faulty. If it is not charged, it can be checked on both sides separately.
Circuit breaking method
For example, for the ignition circuit of the tank trailer, you can first determine whether the fault is in the high-voltage circuit or the low-voltage circuit. For the starting and lighting circuits with relays, you should determine whether the fault is in the control circuit or the main circuit. For example, the steering circuit can determine whether the fault is in the public circuit or the branch circuit, which can make the search more concentrated.
