Rear Dump Trailer

Principle of Rear Dump Trailer

The power take-off device of the main vehicle gearbox is operated to drive the hydraulic pump. The high-pressure oil enters the lift valve through the high-pressure oil pipe, while the lift valve transmits the high-pressure oil to the oil cylinder that drains it into the hydraulic oil tank under the control of the air control valve to make the lift, intermediate stop and lowering functions of the hydraulic oil cylinder.

The Rear Dump Trailer train is mainly composed of a tractor and a semi-trailer, while the main vehicle (tractor) is connected by the saddle and the Rear Dump Trailer semi trailer to form a semi-trailer train. The hydraulic lifting system of the Rear Dump Trailer is mainly composed of a power take-off (gearbox), a hydraulic pump, a lift valve, an air control valve, a limit valve, a hydraulic cylinder, a hydraulic oil tank, and a high (low) pressure oil pipe.

Characteristics of Rear Dump Trailer

U shape rear dump trailer has the characteristics of flexible steering, large carrying capacity, and the ability to self loading and unloading goods. Rear dump trailer are of a special type of vehicle that drives the hydraulic lifting mechanism by relying on its own power. It enables the container the function of automatic dumping and reset. Though, this type of trailer cannot load and unload materials by itself in the process of transportation in the plant. In order to accomplish a complete loading, transporting, and unloading process of soil, sand, gravel and other bulk materials, it needs other engineering machinery or lifting equipment’s cooperation such as joint operation with excavator, loader, belt conveyer, etc. The loading capacity of rear dump trailer is low when compared to other types of trailers. The rated capacity of a U shape rear dump trailer generally does not exceed 32 tons.
